Blockchains are distributed, tamper-proof public ledgers of transactions.
Blockchain is a public transaction register. So, there is not a central storage point or central authority in a Blockchain system. Data is swarming the cloud on nodes or hub's. All can access the data network, once connected. Within the network mutations can be done with tokens.
The Blockchain does not know private data or privacy problems like old centralised systems. Privacy just solved by it's design.
All transactions are added to the blockchain.
Each node in the chain keeps a copy of the ledger, and can trust others’ copies of it because of the way they are signed. Periodically, they wrap up the latest transactions in a new block of data to be added to the chain. Alongside the transaction data, each block contains a computational “hash” of itself and of the previous block in the chain.
Mathematical completeness is build in. It's digital trust and transparency.
Because the computers making up a blockchain system contribute to the content of the ledger and guarantee its integrity, there is no need for a middleman or trusted third-party agency to maintain the database.
